Lessening the Burden of Students
Chinese primary and middle school students have been groaning under huge amount of homework,freguent exams and ambitious expectations of their parents.Every day they rush to school with heavier bags and return home with endless homework,and all their weekends and holidays are occupied with additional courses.Sometimes they even have to burn the midnight oil.This has triggered a nationalwide discussion on whether or not we should reduce the students' study load.
Some people strongly advocate that we should reduce the students' study load.They hold that children should not be denied their free time and the cheerful childhood.Heavy study load has seriously affected their physical and psychological health.As a result,more and more students are either wearing glasses or suffering from nervous disorder.Ohers,however,hesitate to reduce students' study load and instead,they are content with this practice.They believe that only hard work can ensure a bright future.They also believe that only those who study under great pressure can amount to something and stand a chance of entering leading universities.Besides,they think it just a waste of time for student to idle around.
If asked about any suggestion,I am of the opinion that we should moderately reduce students' study load.Besides,a heavy study load is the by-product of the existing exam-oriented system,so we should do something to reform the present educational system
