大学英语精读第二册Unit 1句子翻译有点小晕!
第三段"The satellite was directed into an area known as Manhattan（named after the great Venusian astronomer Prof.Manhattan,who first discovered it with his telescope 20,000 light years ago）"
句面翻译是“卫星被发射到一个叫曼哈顿的地区（它是用金星上伟大的天文学家曼哈顿教授的名字命名的, 两万光年前是他首次用望远镜发现了该地区）.”
好了,我这里就有一个困惑,“光年”应该是距离单位吧,而“20,000 light years ago”很明显是在形容时间的久远,是不是有些矛盾?

翻译没有错.
本文本身就是一个科学小品文章,此处使用是故意把光年和年的概念混淆.这样写用中国的话来说,是有点无厘头的问味道.
你能读得这么仔细,看来是个好学生.

应该是

我觉得不算矛盾，英语思维可能和我们游侠差距
