No matter what只能引导让步状语从句（不能引导名词性从句）,其意为“无论什么”.如：
No matter what happened,he would not say a word.不管发生什么情况,他一句话都不肯讲.
No matter what you do,don’t touch this switch.无论怎样,都别碰这个按钮.
No matter what happens I’ll stand by you.so don’t be afraid.不管发生什么事我都支持你,别怕.

【注意1】这样用的no matter what与引导状语从句的whatever用法相同,有时可互换.如：
