Last year,two of his students took the class and did pretty well in all the quizzes and mid-terms.These two students were so confident about the final exams that the weekend before finals week,they went to a party with some friends,despite the final exams being
on Monday.
They had a great time.Because they were very tired,they overslept all day Sunday and didn’t make it back to Duke until early Monday morning.Rather than taking the finals then,they found Professor Bonk after the finals and explained to him how they missed the finals.They told him they went to a party for the weekend and had planned to come back in time to take the exam,but they had a flat tire (轮胎) on the way back and didn’t have a spare.They couldn’t fix it themselves and were late for the exam.
Bonk thought this over and agreed that they could take the finals the following day.The two students relieved.Bonk placed them in separate (单独的) rooms and handed each of them a test paper.
